The parents of a missing South Carolina teen continue to search for answers about their daughter’s disappearance.
Fifteen-year-old Sarah Pipkin was last seen on August 15 after her first day of school at Kanye Bay High School in Berkeley County. Surveillance video photos of a teenager leaving the school building with a group of students, local news station WCSC mentioned.
Sarah was supposed to take the bus home that day and an hour after she failed to arrive, her mother filed a runaway report with the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office on advice from the department, she wrote in a Facebook post.
More than a month after Sarah’s disappearance, her family is desperately pleading with the public to come forward with information about her whereabouts.
“I want to know. I want to know if she is safe,” Darling Campbell told the WCSC. “I want to know if someone has been harmed.” [my daughter]. If someone … I want to be tried to the fullest. You know, I mean, actually, she’s fifteen. She’s not old enough to make decisions on her own.”
Sarah’s disappearance is now treated as a missing person case. The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office told the WCSC that there were no updates in the investigation.
“We think he’s not necessarily a fugitive and that someone escorted her,” Campbell told WCSC.
“…we just want her home so she can get the help she needs and get on with her life. You know, that’s all we want.”
Sarah’s father, Ricky Campbell, said he was concerned about Sarah’s health because she hadn’t taken anything with her that could indicate she was left alone. The day she disappeared, she left her phone and wallet at home.
“If I’m going to run away, I’ll make sure I have extra clothes, socks, and shoes,” Campbell told the outlet. “She didn’t even take the deodorant, not even the money, she didn’t take it, she didn’t take anything.”
A reward of $1,000 is offered for information about Sarah. She was seen wearing faded jeans, a black Bob Ross shirt, and white Nike Air Force 1 shoes.
Sarah is white, brown eyes, and recently cut her hair in a pixie style.
