Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 features several new changes to the battle royale game’s beloved points of interest and loot collection, thanks in large part to the arrival of Chrome, which is beginning to take over the map in a dramatic way. If you take a peek at the map, you’ll notice that the Herald’s Sanctum is a massive vertical structure erected from Chrome that replaced where The Seven’s Sanctuary once belonged. Inside this shiny and fearsome castle awaits a boss battle against The Herald – which you may also recognize as this season’s secret skin – and it’s full of vibe. Don’t worry, though, we’ll tell you how to do it quick and earn a Mythic Herald blast gun.

How to defeat The Herald

The Herald is located in the center of Herald’s Sanctum where you will find it admiring for its spin. Before you take the fight to it, you’ll definitely want to make sure you’re prepared with full armor, some solid weapons, and plenty of ammo. It crashes like a truck when it hits you, so you don’t want to be caught of some sort, especially since their health bar is huge and takes a while to back off.

When you’re ready to take her down, enter the big room with her and line up a shot in the head with a sniper or other high-hit weapon to get her attention. This will remove some damage to her shield to start things off.

The Herald has two phases to cycle between. During the first stage, Become invulnerable inside a floating bubble and unleash two vine wolves to chase you. You and your team will need to take it out before you damage The Herald again. Once they’re dead, dump as many shots at them as you can, keeping in mind that they can teleport frequently. If she gets close to you after teleportation, she can do some huge damage, so keep moving.

You’ll repeat these two phases multiple times during combat, each time claiming to kill your vine wolves before damaging them again. After a long and difficult confrontation, you will eventually fall. When she does, she drops her Legendary Shotgun, which you can use to take down opponents easily from medium and long ranges, so make sure your team’s specialist is able to grab it.
