Netflix TV show Nailed It gets an episodic video game. Netflix has announced that Paladin Studios is developing a Nailed It video game called Nailed It Baking Bash, and it will be released October 4 on mobile.
Like the TV series, the video game is all about cooking. In the game, players will host a party for their friends and try to recreate the popular recipes. The gameplay includes ‘fast fire’ mini-games where players bake, paint and decorate their own plates while trying to make very cute cakes.
There is also a multiplayer mode, where players can compete against real humans to make cakes as fast as they can, which is also the way the show works. Players can earn “distractors” to make your fellow contestants’ cooking more challenging. Check out the trailer below.
According to one report, Netflix aims to have more than 50 games in the Netflix Games catalog by the end of 2022. Prior to that, Netflix partnered with Ubisoft on several new games, including another Assassin’s Creed title.
In addition to partnering with studios like Paladin Studios and Ubisoft, Netflix has been busy buying game studios, including Boss Fight Entertainment, Next Games, and Night School Studio. Part of what distinguishes Netflix games from other games is that they do not contain ads or microtransactions. Players can install games from within the Netflix app.
Nailed It’s upcoming season, Nailed It: Halloween is expected to release in October, but the show ran into production issues when Went out in the middle of a contract dispute. The show is presented by comedian Nicole Bayer.
In other news from Netflix, the streaming company’s new ad-based tier is said to launch in November, ahead of Disney Plus’s ad tier in December.
