For Pakistan, this is a huge step forward towards joining the international community around Web3, blockchain and digital assets. This project attracted government support, the largest telecom company in Pakistan and the fastest growing web3 company to work together.

Fasset is partnering with the Pakistan Prime Minister’s Office, as part of the Prime Minister’s Youth Program (PMYP) to educate one million young people about blockchain, web3-based technologies and cryptography. The partnership, in conjunction with JazzCash, the nation’s largest telecommunications company with more than 75 million customers, will advance the agency’s skills agenda for the future, providing much-needed education to audiences.

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister of Pakistan for Youth Affairs, H.E. Shatha Khawaja says: “For years, the Government of Pakistan has been tirelessly working on skills development for youth across the country, but I believe that the private sector provides great opportunities for young people when it comes to preparing for the future. The Prime Minister’s vision is to work in areas of significant economic impact – such as digital skills for the future. This forms the basis of PMYP’s partnership with Fasset. I hope our young people will seize this opportunity to learn from qualified practitioners in the industry and the world of opportunity unfolding.”

Pakistan is among the top 3 adopters of Web3 in the world. In addition, Pakistan is home to some of the best and brightest developers, researchers and scientists in the world when it comes to tokens, digital assets, and blockchain technology. In parallel with PMYP, Fasset hopes to build awareness and educate the next generation of web3 users about safe, responsible and innovative development and adoption of the future of this game-changing space. We believe that with the right building blocks, the talented youth of Pakistan can unlock $100 billion in potential economic growth.” — Muhammad Rafi Hussain, CEO of Fasit

Murtada Ali, Acting CEO of JazzCash, said: “This partnership will improve financial literacy by reaching millions of young people in underserved areas through digital media. JazzCash is proud to be the financial enabler for any transactions that are required to be implemented for the next phases of the program. We are interested strongly to forge alliances with like-minded organizations to further our mission of financial inclusion of Pakistan.”

The Central Asian country’s 2025 vision aims to raise the local digitization of its 63% young population between the ages of 15 and 33. PMYP is the leading youth skills development program.

Two core areas will be addressed in the Youth Skills Development Agenda, which covers skills for the future and skills for all.

  • Working together, both organizations will create a curriculum for imparting education on the blockchain and web3. The curriculum will also include the technical skills young people will need to create a career in this field, with a special focus on amplifying the existing world-class 3 web developer base located in Pakistan.
  • Fassett will create a financial literacy chain that will allow young people, especially women and vulnerable communities, to build their skills. This will lead you to invest and start earning passive income. Through this training, participants can also obtain certificates that will help them get jobs in related fields.
  • There will be a national award for innovation in Web3, Blockchain, and related emerging technologies. The two parties will participate in the organization of the award.

This partnership also aims to target Pakistani expatriates globally, as well as millions of youth in Pakistan to improve financial literacy in underserved areas. JazzCash will act as a financial enabler for this arrangement for any transactions required to be carried out for the next phases of the program and has shown great interest during stakeholder meetings in forging alliances with like-minded organizations to further its mission of financially inclusion of Pakistan.

Pakistan has one of the largest communities of freelancers globally, including some of the top 3 web developers, and Fasset believes that equipping Pakistani youth with some of the most in-demand skills will boost the freelance economy through the vision of PMYP leadership.

The partnership will impact nearly one million young people over the course of a year, creating opportunities to learn and work with significant economic impact.
